Ronald D. Moore Tech's the Tech

I had heard years ago that all the techno babble you heard on all the different Star Trek shows were largely the work of science consultants. The writers would craft the dialogue with portions omitted for the science guys to go through and come up with something to insert. Sounds like something that could be mundanely formulaic for the writers and a bit of a headache for the science guys.
